How to Apply and Deadlines

Scholarship Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must possess the following to be considered for the program:

  • BA or BS degree at time of matriculation
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0
  • Institutional letter of nomination (this may be from a department chair, academic dean, director of undergraduate studies, or dean of students at applicant’s graduating college or university)

Application and Selection Process

To apply, students must be graduating seniors of either an HBCU or HSI school and will need to submit the following:

  • Undergraduate transcript (official)
  • Candidate statement of purpose
  • Current resume
  • Three letters of recommendation, at least two of which are from faculty
  • Institutional letter of nomination

Institutions may nominate up to three students. The Bridge Scholar selection committee will include: the Dean of the Graham School, the academic associate deans of the Graham School, University faculty, and the Vice Provost for Academic Leadership, Advancement and Diversity. No more than a total of ten scholarships will be awarded. Scholarship recipients will have a month to accept their offers of admission to the program.
