Support Graham

Your generosity and support is critical to the Graham School’s excellence in lifelong learning and to expanding our offerings to a broader community of learners.

As one of the oldest extension schools in the country, the University of Chicago Graham School has been at the forefront of adult learning for the past 125 years. As we look toward the future, we remain focused and committed to sustaining our model of teaching and learning.

With your support, we can continue to strengthen our commitment to lifelong learning and increase our offerings to a broader world of learners.

Let knowledge grow from more to more; and so be human life enriched

The Annual Fund

The Graham School continually renews Harper's vision of lifelong learning with a diverse range of academic offerings. The Annual Fund provides critical support to sustain the pedagogical values and traditions upon which our programs were founded, while providing the flexibility and resources essential to serving our community.

Your support is essential to advance Graham's efforts as we remain focused on and committed to growing our course offerings, sustaining our model of teaching and learning, and increasing opportunities for you to engage in the UChicago intellectual community.

The Basic Program

Founded in 1946, the Basic Program of Liberal Education for Adults represents the Graham School’s deepest connection to the University of Chicago tradition and emphasizes the development of critical thinking, communication, inquiry, and cross-cultural understanding.

Basic Program Annual Fund

Your gift to the Basic Program will help sustain lifelong liberal arts learning by supporting our commitment to small discussion-based classrooms and increasing access to the program. Gifts offer the opportunity to provide scholarships, foster diversity in the classroom, support instructors, and continue program development.

Basic Program Endowment

The Basic Program goal is to raise $5 million to ensure the longevity of the program. This fund supports instructors, sustains the program's intellectual foundations, and promotes curricular innovation. Through this endowment the Basic Program is prioritizing the creation of viable career opportunities for instructors, providing expanded support for talented scholars to teach additional classes and develop new offerings for our students.

Your support is essential to our commitment to instructors and lifelong liberal arts learning.
