The NMPS is the only program of its type in the world. It brings together the professionals who publish within museums and similar institutions for discussion related to interpreting museum collections to a diverse public in an expanding array of media.
About the Program
This three-day seminar takes place every other year, and travels around the U.S. to showcase the latest regional expertise among professionals in different museums. Speakers and attendees are drawn from the publications, digital media, and marketing departments at art, science and history museums, as well as professionals from university presses, small publishers, and design firms. They are joined by sponsors and exhibitors who serve museums by providing paper, printing, photographic expertise, design, writing, editing, packaging and other services.
Save the date for the 17th National Museum Publishing Seminar, the only program devoted to the interests and concerns of professionals who publish in a museum context. The full program brochure will be mailed and available online by early 2016.
This year’s conference will be held in Chicago’s Aqua Tower, steps from Millennium Park and Michigan Avenue. This skyscraper houses the first Radisson Blu boutique hotel in the United States.
