The PDPSAB Plans for the Future

As the Graham School’s Professional Development Certificates continue to build the non-credit student community, the Professional Development Programs Student Advisory Board (PDPSAB) has played a large role in extracurricular engagement. The advisory board’s role is to help foster a supportive environment for certificate students, while also liaising with the Graham School Student Advisory Board to connect with students across the entire school. Our advisory board members act as leaders in encouraging discussion, collecting feedback, advocating for specific needs, and raising the visibility of non-credit certificate students at the University and within the Graham School.

Now in its third year and composed of 16 students and alumni across all the certificates, and led by Board Chair Tony Goodman for the third straight year, the advisory board is focused on two main goals for academic year 2018–2019: mentorship and career development. The Speaker Series Committee is focusing on developing mentorship and networking opportunities for students and alumni. The committee is focusing on finding career coaches and expert speakers to provide career advice and opportunities to our student body. The Career Day Committee is planning our annual career fair. Held in May of each year, Career Day features employers from a variety of industries. You can read about last year’s event here.

The advisory board hosts meetings at the Gleacher Center on the first Tuesday of the month. If you are interested in working with the board or sending them ideas for community building, please reach out to them at For any questions about the board or for information about how to get involved, please contact Tony Goodman or Lisa Malvin.
