Master of Science in Threat and Response Management

Our mission is to develop leaders to prepare for and respond to emergency situations by using advanced tools and techniques to effectively manage disasters and guide our communities and organizations through the recovery process.

The Master of Science in Threat and Response Management (MScTRM) program is designed for professionals from a broad range of disciplines, combining tactical lessons and resilience building approaches with a unique University of Chicago approach to critical thinking and analysis.

National demand for master’s-level emergency management professionals increased by 37% from 2013 to 2015, making graduates of our program a valuable asset to a growing field.

The entire program is completed in just 21 months. Courses are structured in an executive style, taking place in-person over an extended weekend once per month to accommodate the schedule of working professionals. We take a team-based learning approach that utilize dynamic instruction from experts in the field, so you will be ready to plan for and recover from an emergency of any size, anywhere.
