Concluding their year of study at the University of Chicago, students who earned the Graham School’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Bridge Scholarship for 2017–18 received certificates of achievement and congratulations at a luncheon held in their honor at the Chicago Theological Seminary on May 21.
After two years experimenting with open-to-all courses offered entirely online, the University of Chicago Graham School’s Basic Program of Liberal Education for Adults is set to launch two wholly online sections of the four-year certificate program in the autumn of 2018. With the goal of expanding the accessibility and reach of this unique discussion-based UChicago approach to education, earning a Basic Program certificate while reading and discussing Plato, Dante, and Dostoevsky will now be feasible for new students living outside of Chicago as well as those who have moved away.
