Description: Entering into a medical writing career can be a challenge; it's useful to have an understanding of the field itself. Adjunct Instructor Tom Lang takes a deep look into the profession of medical writing in this online discussion. He will provide an overview of income levels and regional locations of medical writers and answer questions such as, "Who are the major employers of medical writers?" and "What are the demographics of medical writers?"

Tom Lang, MA,

is an international consultant and trainer in medical communications. Formerly Manager of Medical Editing Services at the Cleveland Clinic, he has long been involved in developing reporting standards for evidence-based medicine. His books, How to Report Statistics in Medicine and How to Write, Publish, and Present in the Health Sciences are standard references in medical writing. He has received teaching awards from the American Medical Writers Association, the American Statistical Association, and the University of Chicago. His master’s degree in Communication is from the Annenberg School of Communication, University of Southern California.
