Saturday, April 8, 2017
1:00 PM–4:00 PM
1276 N Milwaukee Ave
Chicago, IL 60622

The University of Chicago Writer's Studio and 826CHI are teaming up to offer a free cross-generational writing workshop on poets in revolt. How do poets use their art to resist injustice and reshape their world? Instructors from both programs will lead participants of all ages in exercises and discussion, ultimately resulting in new writing and a chance to share. Join us to get to know both 826CHI and the Writer's Studio while tapping into the power of your own voice. 826CHI is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. The University of Chicago Writer's Studio in downtown Chicago is a creative home to adult writers of all genres and ambitions. We offer open-enrollment, noncredit classes designed to inspire and challenge as well as manuscript consultations and free community events.
