Webinar: The Editor's Complicated Brain



What kind of mind makes for a great manuscript editor? What kinds of skills do you need to develop? Hint: you must go far beyond being a good speller and making subject and verb agree. In this webinar, we'll consider the kinds of intelligence that we need to cultivate in order to excel in this work.

Ruth Goring is a senior manuscript editor at the University of Chicago Press. She has taught in the Editing certificate program since 2011 and has also led workshops for editors at Groupon, the Professional Editors' Network (Twin Cities), PubU, and elsewhere. Ruth's own publications include the poetry collections Yellow Doors and Soap Is Political; her picture book Adriana's Angels will be available in both English and Spanish in September 2017.
