Graduate Student-at-Large: Business

Ashley Cornwell

“Having been out of school for a while, I was nervous about becoming a student again. [GSALB] seemed perfect that I’d have the chance to try some classes out without having to commit myself to a program." Read more

Lindsey Olmstead Battaglia

“The people at the Graham School are amazingly available to help you answer your questions,” Lindsey says. “At other universities where I’ve studied, they might give you a video or a brochure and leave it to you to figure it out. At the Graham School, they take you through every step of the way and make sure you know what your getting into.” Read more

Peter Mochel

“None of the other schools I was looking into had anything like the Chicago Business Fellows program,” Peter says. “That’s another benefit you get from the GSALB program, particularly if you’re interested in going to Booth: it really allows you to get the fullest sense possible for what Booth has to offer.” Read more

Aimee Schauer

“I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I did,” she says. “I didn’t think I’d feel as comfortable as I did. The first class I took through the GSALB met on Friday nights, but it didn’t feel like I was sacrificing my weekend to be there. I felt comfortable in the classroom. I’d raise my hand without worrying about asking a stupid question.” Read more

One of the key values of taking a course at Booth through the Graduate Student-at-Large: Business program is to become well versed in the strong foundations of business education, and become prepared to compete and keep pace with top level graduate students from all over the world. GSALB students take MBA courses alongside their colleagues and have the opportunity to build professional relationships with their faculty and TAs. Up to three graduate business courses taken during the GSALB program can be transferred to the MBA program, pending successful application and admittance into the MBA program at the Chicago Booth School of Business.

The Graduate Student-at-Large: Business program serves as a bridge to take students from their undergraduate studies in any diverse field of study, to either the MBA at The Chicago Booth School of Business or other graduate or professional fields of study which might be a better fit for the individual student.
