The Professional Development team strives to provide career services and additional resources for our current students and alumni. We host events, workshops, seminars, and webinars focusing on important skills like networking, interviewing, resume writing, and negotiating. We also offer lectures that expand beyond the classroom and dive deep into diverse subjects.
Students from all certificate programs are invited to participate, and we encourage our alumni to participate as well!
If you are considering our Professional Development certificates and interested in attending one of these events, we encourage you to register.
We update our calendar regularly with additional events and workshops. If you have questions, please email GrahamPD@uchicago.edu.
The PDP team also offers one-on-one career advising. PDP students can schedule career advising meetings to discuss job searches, networking, resumes, and interviews as well as academic advising meetings to make sure their coursework matches their interests and career aspirations.
The Professional Development Programs Student Advisory Board (PDPSAB) meets monthly throughout the academic year and advises PDP staff on issues of concern to certificate students, plans events and activities for their peers, and works to create a collaborative certificate community. The Student Advisory Board is composed of current students from across all certificate programs and fosters a supportive environment for certificate and non-credit students in the Graham School.
Prospective students are encouraged to contact the PDPSAB to learn more about the Professional Development Program student experience. If you are a current PDP student interested in learning more about the PDPSAB or joining the board, please email email@example.com.
PDPSAB members serve for one academic year. All active students are eligible to join the board, even if they fulfill their certificate requirements during their one year commitment. Distance-learning students are able to join the board as well, as long as they are able to conference in during the monthly meetings.
Non-credit students at the Graham School are supported by the Dean of Students Office. Please contact them for information about student resources, career resources, and policies.
