Financial and strategic decisions can be difficult for individuals and businesses alike, and these are even more challenging for nonprofit organizations. This session aims to shed light on the various factors that should be considered by nonprofit organizations to make better financial decisions. Nonprofit organizations can create sustainable and repeatable processes by understanding the key components of risk, strategy, culture, and industry trends.
The completion of both parts is equivalent to the completion of one elective course in the Financial Decision Making certificate.

Paul Phillips is the founder of the Better Man Than Me Foundation, which was launched in April of 2011, and the founder of DOMINATE Productions, which was launched in 2017. His organization has served almost 6,000 young men in the Chicagoland area and approximately 500 young ladies during various mentoring sessions throughout the city and suburbs. As of August 2017, the foundation has awarded eight scholarships.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA with concentration in both management and management information systems. He also holds a doctorate in divinity from the Hope Seminary and Bible Institute. He is a certified information systems auditor and a certified information security manager. He has worked in corporate America in various capacities for 32 years. He has also worked as a part-time professor for several universities and other various institutions of higher learning for 16 years.
The Financial Decision Making certificate gives professionals the opportunity to earn the skills necessary to make the financial decisions at the core of any business. Professionals will discuss fundamental financial theories and practice making financial decisions that apply to any organization.
