Students are encouraged to submit their application two months prior to the start of classes. Once students are accepted into the program, they can begin taking courses immediately. Course registration closes seven days before the start of any class.
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Applicants must submit

- $40 application fee (non-refundable)
- Personal statement
- Current resume or CV
Students may take one course without applying to the program.
Members of related professional associations such as the Editorial Freelancers Association, Chicago Women in Publishing, Independent Writers of Chicago, the Council of Science Editors, and American Copy Editors Society qualify for a 10% discount when able to provide proof of current, valid membership.
